Finding The Right Perfume For You

If the clothes make the person, it is the perfume that sets just the right tone. When a fragrance is chosen with care, it can add to the image you wish to create. And so, you may wish to wear a perfume that is both appealing and bold for a meeting or presentation. For a night out on the town, you could choose one that adds to your allure. Popular Brands Some popular perfume brands include Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Calvin Klein, and Dolce & Byredo. This list is in no way exhaustive. There are many perfumers that deserve your attention. Most people like to reserve certain scents for the day and others for the evening hours. That said you should choose a fragrance that suits you and makes you feel the way you wish to. Some scents make women feel fresh and feminine, while others are sporty and lively. Similarly, perfumers also offer men’s perfumes that suit every distinguished taste. Know Your Perfume There are many types of perfumes available in the market. They are distinguished by the amount of essential oils they include. The Extrait de Parfum is most expensive and is usually be reserved for those special meetings in the evening. It includes about 20-40% oils and lasts the longest. Eau de Parfum has approximately 12-15% oils, while Eau de Toilette has 6-10%, and is ideal for use in the day. Eau de Cologne smells light, fresh and cheery, and with only about 2-4 % oils it does not last very long. Enjoy the Experience When you are shopping for a fragrance, do not rush. A good perfume is like a secret that is revealed slowly, and with great care. The top notes, also known as head notes, are the scents that are detected as soon as the perfume is applied. Most often people choose a fragrance based on the top notes. However, you need to be patient. The middle notes or the heart of the perfume is revealed soon after the top notes dissipate. And finally, the base notes can be experienced about half an hour after the application of the perfume. It also smells slightly different on different types of skin. Thus, experts recommend that you wait until the base notes are detected before you make a selection. Good perfume is expensive, and deserves to be chosen with consideration.
